HIC is the criterion for spinal cord injury due to gravity acceleration. By a single fall from the desired height, values comparable to EN1177: 2018 method 2 and ASTM F1292 are obtained.

The system features an artificial head with an integrated triaxial MEMS sensor that measures up to 200G of accelerations that can occur during an impact. All values are recorded wirelessly for further study.
